In Search of…
Peetu Liesinen (b.1988) is a visual artist who got his master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. The art-loving public may remember his art from such shows as the Mad Love exhibition in Helsinki’s Kiasma presenting Seppo Fränti’s art collection. This new exhibition is Liesinen’s first at Gallery Halmetoja. His paintings, aesthetically strict but wide open for interpretations, represent the more interesting idiom of contemporary painting. Also on display is a series of artworks on paper, where the line familiar from Liesinen’s earlier exhibitions has gained an even bolder subtlety.
