It Takes Two
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, Einari Hyvönen attracted a lot of attention with his paintings, which combined painting and transfer photography and used memes in their themes. Now, the transfer images have disappeared and the painting is more painterly. The themes no longer borrow from memes, but the aesthetic of the paintings is still inspired by digital world. In Hyvönen’s works, worldliness is intertwined with warm humour and a sunny palette of colours.
