Hanna Westerberg’s new works are strongly based on observation. At their core is the artist’s line based on the gaze. We see a lot, but the gaze is selective. It delineates, picks, combines and builds. The eye of the drawer is one of the key elements of visual art. It is the essence of visual art that observes reality. Painting is an extension of drawing, Westerberg’s brush creates a line from which the surface is built up but not filled in. The colours are unreal, full of light and the atmosphere is dreamlike.
