Furry Darlings

Laura Kärki builds an anarchistic world where fantasy creatures, cheeky posing and cartoonish humour meet in an expressive visual language. The exhibition includes new tufts and sculptures that combine ceramics and textiles. In Kärki’s work, repetition and the process of making with one’s hands are central – juxtaposing two almost identical works reveals the slight variations and coincidences that make each piece unique. Despite its visual diversity, the expression of the work is easy to interpret in a straightforward manner, making it less complex and more identifiable.
