Veera Kulju’s exhibition features ceramic sculptures and reliefs. They engage in a close dialogue between different uses of ceramics. Their nature varies depending on whether the material is hand-built, cast, or molded. In Kulju’s works, the method of production matters: minimalism may trick the viewer into interpreting them too strongly through the lens of modernist art history. The details of the works reveal that they also unashamedly echo traditional craftsmanship.
